Just to update Angie's thread, Scrumpy the spaniel has been found safe and well. She was found by the side of the road and looked after by a couple who made contact when they saw posters in the area.

Nice to see she was well-looked after until her owners were found, but I wonder why the people who found her didn't contact dog warden etc. as soon as they found her

All's well that ends well
