OH and I have been considering when and what. I often read about how easy it is for rescues to rehome kittens and the Mum is left behind. So, I'm thinking perhaps come spring I'd offer a home to a Mother and son. That way I would have a kitten to enjoy and an older cat. Also I'd not have to consider male or female etc.

It may not work out that way - I've only ever planned the first cat I had. The rest have all found me by one route or another. But, that's the plan for the moment.

Don't think I could cope with one right now. Still a bit too raw.

Not sure how to score this one: I didn't know the silkie was flightless; but think I should give 3 points to CM who had three; and two points to Jane and Angie who had two. Fair enough? The other one was the cassowary.

Jane the wild ones are excellent flyers. The domesticated ones can't any more, they've been bred to be too heavy!
