Yet another newbie!!

Hello everyone. Thought I had better introduce myself and my new feline friend.

I am Caroline, married with 2 sons (8&7) 2 dogs (Tara 12yr old mongrel & Charlie 9mth old Labrador) and now we have a new addition as the family didn't feel complete without a cat!

I adopted Kitty from my local rescue. She's approx 2yrs old and was only in rescue as her owner had died, and she was left on the streets! She has settled in quite well, but does tend to stay in my bedroom as my puppy is very aggresive towards her! We've become a dogs downstairs, cat upstairs house, but it's working really well! Kitty ventures downstairs when the dogs are asleep in the kitchen with the door closed!

As I am a 1st time cat owner and a complete novice with anything feline, I do have a couple of questions, but will post them in the relevant sections!

Look forward to bombarding you all with my really dumb questions
