Re: my new bear

I had a teddy, he was called Big Teddy (highly original!). He was given to me for my first Christmas when I was just 5 months old and he was larger than me. He growled and I was scared of him but came to love him and still have him. Sadly his growl doesn't work any longer.

Re: my new bear

sometimes Angie, if you use a hot hairdryer on the site of the growler it can work again but be careful not to burn the fur.
It would be nice to see a pic of him when you have time.

Nice teddy, what's he called? I 'rescue' teddies from charity shops if I think they look sad. Yes, I am mad as a fridge.

Wow Shelley, he's gorgeous. I've never seen one that can open its mouth like that. Congrats on winning him.

Re: my new bear

There is something about a bear that is so theraputic. When my mum passed away in 2005, I discovered that Gund make a limited number of bears every year with that particular year on them . I bought one of these special bears with 2005 on it and cuddled it in bed every night since. It's ears have gone a bit scruffy now with all my tears, but he is still beautiful. When I lost dad in 2008, I got another to mark that year. Each year these memory bears, as they are called, are different in colour and shape. I often cuddle them and somehow they seem to bring my parents close to me . I feel as if I'm cuddling mum and dad. Sounds silly, but they have bought me a great deal of comfort, especially in the months after the loss of my parents.
