These are superb pics. What a lovely place. I too am a big old town fan, the architecture is fantastic - you just do not get that detail in stonework nowadays.

Was it very crowded or were the crowds concentrated in particular spots or at particular times?

There were quite a few tour guide groups which stopped at practically every building to give its history thus making it look more crowded than it was. Also you get the visiting passengers from the cruise ships docking just outside Dubrovnik harbour for a day. It's said to be very crowded during July/August, also very hot ...... I wouldn't fancy walking around the top of the walls in that heat!

We stayed about 20mins away from the Old Town so were able to make frequent visits on our own earlier in the mornings before the tour groups arrived.
