Dubrovnik ~ Old Town (2)We took our first trip into the Old town on our 2nd day, it was only 20 minutes away from the hotel. Entrance to the Old Town .......   The Guards.....   The Stradun........      The architecture in the Old Town is truly amazing. The Stradun is lined with tiny shops with hanging lanterns (no neon signs here!!) and restaurants with plenty of outdoor seating. We arrived at the City Walls early so that we could make the climb before it was too hot... The long climb up to the top of the Wall........          We start our climb and get spectacular views around.......              The Walls rose to staggering heights, I wouldn't suggest it to anyone who suffers with vertigo! Here's an example of how thick the walls are ....... a lot are thicker than this!  The walk took us just under 2 hours and the heat was getting unbearable by the time we completed it!

That is an absolutely gorgeous place, my kind of Town, those buildings are just are beauitiful......Although would not fancy the long climb!!Love the colourful guards, do they dress like that all the time?? |

Absolutly breathtaking, I love old places like that. Had never thought of going to Croatia before but am seriously thinking about it now.  |

Nice guards . . .  Seriously, a stunning place and more like Italy each time I look at your pictures. I'm really thinking of booking something there next year . . .I'll PM you in a bit to pick your brains on child-friendly locations. |

I think most of the schools in Italy, Croatia etc finished up for their summer holidays two weeks ago and the schools organise school trips there. |
