SW France 2008

A few pics from our June break

The little cabins are fishing 'carrolets' or somesuch. Quite typical of the place. We went there several times when the children were little and enjoyed 'bucket and spade' holidays. It was nice to return as a 'Saga couple' and find that it had not changed very much and was still a very enjoyable quiet break.

The beautiful house next door to our cottage - which was much much more modest!

What a lovely, peaceful yet unusual landscape. Those 'pier huts' are very quaint and un-French. Almost something you expect to see in Thailand!

Is it a good location for children then? I'm always on the look out for recommendations

Re: SW France 2008

Seems a long time ago now
My sister and bil went to The Vendee over August BH (on the motor bike ) and had terrible, terrible weather. Their gite owner said it had been a really bad summer (oh, really? we hadn't noticed) but their week was the worst of the lot
I think we were pretty lucky as we were quite early - mid June
