Monty Bogle vs. Shaun the Sheep!

Last Friday, Monty had an appointment at the groomer. I was very uncertain as to what to ask them to do because I rather loved my little tatty-bogle, but he was getting more and more difficult to groom and was collecting all sorts of seedheads and bits and pieces and in fact even with our best efforts, his hair was getting matted in places.

A couple of photos of the rather hairy chap:-

It was a shock when we went to pick him up and I was speechless for a few seconds - the groomer said she was waiting for a reaction (and tbh I thought that the Tibetan Terrier that was in there at the same time was Monty!) but he seems a lot happier and is SO much easier to groom and keep him nice and clean, so I'm getting used to it. OH is very pleased with his new look.

Edit to say: Yes, he still has his fluffy tail!

Awwwww! What a cute wee Monty Bogle!

He must feel so much comfier like that Angie. Am sure you'll be happy not having to pick all the bits of plant out of him now. And have less issues with mats.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks all - he does have a little waterproof coat to wear and a fleecy liner for the colder weather.

Poor lad, he's spends all that time growing a nice warm coat and you go and cut it off, how very dare you?

Morgan sends his sympathy, we have to have him trimmed every 8 weeks. Do you take Monty back to the breeder for trimming? These dogs are too darned good at gathering half the woods in their coats aren't they? He'll be a lot easier to groom now, smart-looking little boy!

Why didnt you have him hand stripped like a Schnauzer should be? Just wondering.
