What a stunning colour - I've just looked it up and it is (surprisingly!) called a Blue-Tailed Damselfly and it is a male as it "has a conspicuous blue patch near the tip of the abdomen. In the female the blue is often replaced by lilac or pale brown." (Collins Gem Insects photoguide). Great shot Mags! |
