Gone cross eyed

Looking for van insurance. Why is it when companies call you and ask what you cheapest quote has been, they then quote a dearer price and ask "how does that price sound?". Were'nt they listening to me when i told them the cheaper amount quoted????
Cheapest quote so far £493.83, most expensive so far £919.89
All this because of two small dings. Kinda wishing I had wrote the van off.

I don`t know where they get their prices from these insurance companies, I am sure that they just make them up as they go along.

Re: Gone cross eyed

Quite a discrepancy in quotes there! Never had a car so no info on that, but it certainly must be really annoying for you.

Many phone calls and internet searches, my brain hurts going over the whole thing. Calling it a night for now, will see how I feel tomorrow and try some more.

Re: Gone cross eyed

The bad news, cannt get a cheaper quote with out it affecting the excess Oh well ho hum....
The good news? Last incident has gone in my favour, as it should have coz the taxi driver was in the wrong and he lied, so I'll atleast get my £200 excess that i had to pay the garage back.
It's better than a poke in the eye with a rusty nail....

Re: Gone cross eyed

What;s "excess"? Is that like our deductible, where if it's under a certain amount you have to pay it; once that limit's reached, they will pay?

Re: Gone cross eyed

Sort of, Insurance companies set the excess and if you are found at fault or the issue remains unresolved, in order to get the damage fixed, you have to pay that amount and the Insurance pays the rest.
