Off to St Ives

We're off to St Ives tomorrow until friday My aunt booked it for us, obviously decided I was very run down and needed a break lol. Needless to say we are all very appreciative of it and soooo looking forward to it as we have never been down that far. OH is very much looking forward to visiting Lands End, as it has been a wich of his. I did some searching on the net and found that they have a Dr Who exhibition there, so Hayley will be delighted with that surprise Raechel got loads of new clothes for her birthday today, so that's her packing done

Re: Off to St Ives

I really wouldn't get your hopes up about Lands End, its REALLY tacky! In the opinion of most Cornishmen it should be just left as a place of beauty and not a tacky tourist trap

Re: Off to St Ives

I completely agree, and I know my OH is going to be disappointed in some way. He really just wants to stand there and know that he's at the last point iykwim, but I hate to see places of beauty ruined with touristy stuff.

Have a great time Alex - don't forget to visit The Tate St Ives! Hope they will have a decent exhibition on. I think the Barbara Hepworth museum/workshop is down there too if you like sculpture!

And don't forget the fish and chips!

Re: Off to St Ives

Have a lovely time Alex, I hope you all enjoy it..

My first recollection of Lands End was in the days when there was just the signpost there showing how many miles to different places around the world. Everything was wild and rugged around there then....and I had my photo taken by the signpost.......... I do believe you have to pay to have your picture taken there now!

I have a funny tale about a DR Who convention that took place in Elgin some years back but it wont relate well in text.
Enjoy yourselves
