They do excellent steaks Mags.

I know the new George Formans (more expensive ones) have a temperature control so you might be able to do steaks rare on them Donna. You can also put the plates in the dishwasher.

They are also good for grilled/griddled veg - courgette and aubergine,sliced lengthways, do beautifully and come out very tasty with those dark griddle lines across them

I think you have all persuaded me to go out and get a George Forman grill. think I'll go for the bigger size as I've got a hubby with a big appetite!

one i got was 16-99 from comet (prices better in there i think) your be discusted with the amount of water n fat that comes out of the meat,

Well been to my mum and dads today and got my Chrissie pressie - The George Forman Grill!!

It has temperature settings and a timer on it - so must be the expensive one!!

Will be trying out a steak asap (mum did a roast dinner for me today so not cooking tonight)
