Westminster Dog Show


Did it get any coverage in the UK ,,, our Crufts? A Scottish deerhound won .... I'd never heard of the breed.

One of the articles mentioned that they're uncommon here, Moli ... she is a very large hairy dog ......

Now the Irish wolfhound is a breed I had heard of and seen pics of; Scottish deerhound was a new one to me ... and to many of the news anchors reporting the results on TV. Interestingly enough, this Champion comes from around here: the Virginia hunt country, so she's gotten more than the usual local TV coverage.

We do get it televised usually through Animal Planet at some stage but usually not right away. Nice dog that won.

Not seen any coverage here Eileen although I may have missed it.
However I have always liked the look of deerhounds, they remind me of slightly hairy versions of greyhounds, although in reality I think they have derieved from the USSR Borzoi. I have only ever meet two in my life and they were gorgeous, they were massive, not quite looking me in the eye but notfar off being 5ft4.
