Dandysmom I dont have too many problems with the bird as my raised beds are actually netted.

I occasionally get one hanging over the side that gets nibbled by the birds, I did see a blackbird today who kept flying up the side of the plot trying to get a strawberry

It's a good year for strawberries - I am innundated! I've ordered a dozen of a late fruiting variet for next year, so I can extend the season through July, rather than have this Wimbledon glut'!
