Dm I was vaguely thinking 'Only in England' (where England also includes constituent parts of the UK .... just thought in those terms because that is a wel known saying) as we went around the fair. I suppose steam engines didn't really have a lot of impact in the new world? Some were used in 'real work', like road rolling etc, some provided the power for all sorts of enterprises like fairgrounds etc, some were agricultural engines providing the power for threshing and grinding, grain elevators etc. As you can see from the pictures, those on display have been lovingly restored and are cherished by their owners. We came across 3 of them on the open road as we drove around yesterday and as they made their way home. About 5mph and much smoke!
