I've only known one or two people with ovens like that... One of whom was a child minder, so I have some vague memories of toast being made on it. You also get them with two compartments below the hob, and the upper one of those is often a separate grill... |

yes thats what my cookers like!! my mums always had one, when i moved into the flat is was an electric oven and i hated it! so when i was going onto the house i needed to have one!! |

I got it wrong dandysmom, I meant just the bit that toasts the bread is called a grill or rather a heating element. Sorry to sound confusing there. Looks like you've got yourself a mini oven with a single heating element at the top which doubles up as a grill? Handy little piece of equipment! |

They are mini-ovens, bake, broil; I couldn't be without one. I got my first back in the late 50s; think I'm on the third now; they're pretty sturdy. They're very common here. |
