Glad you're okay! Being from CA, I've experienced quite a few earthquakes but they're always unsettling. I'm sure Leia knew but just decided there was nothing she could do so just stayed calm. |

I imagine if you live in an earthquake prone zone, Tink, you might tend to be a bit blase with it; but a big one like this is unheard of here; well, since 1897, so I suppose I could say within living memory! I admit I was scared s*****ss! It;s a weird feeling having the building juddering! What's the worst one you've ever experienced? |

The worst I've experienced was the 1989 San Francisco quake which hit our home in San Jose at 7.1 on the richter scale..lots of aftershocks all day too..very scary..we stayed in the backyard for quite awhile that day |

Oh that was a bad one! We had two mild aftershocks today, didn't feel them at all in the City, thank God. By the time that it dawned on me that we were really having an earthquake and I was deciding it might be wise to get away from the big window it was over! The TV preempted all programming and was non-stop earthquake coverage until after the 6 pm news. |

Missed all the excitement for you last night Eileen glad you are ok though. Caught up with the news on radio this morning, said they evacuated the White House! I slept through a mild tremor here about 10 years ago, didn't feel a thing. We have lots of ground movement due to subsidence caused by the mine workings below, never felt or saw anything though. |
