I feel quite sorry for them when we see them so think it would be much safer if there were legalised brothels.

Re: Do you think prostitution should be legalised?

I would prefer a brothel type law similar to australia, prostitutes only get arrested if they are on the street, brothels are legal and operate the same as any other buisness paying taxes etc.
Most of the prostitutes we have in this country have drug problems or are in the country illigaly, legalising prostitution makes it easier to find the women who are being forced into it, or are only doing it as they have other problems.

Totally agree. A brothel law would, I feel help to resolve some of the isues. Both drugs, girls and boys being forced into prostitution, and help to monitor places where it occurs.

However, I do wonder how many people would mind having a brothel in their town

I thouroughly dissaprove of prosrtitution as degrading to women, but it's been around since the beginning of time and always will be, so legalization makes sense. The women can get regular health inspections, the "clients" are less likely to be infected, and hopefully, it will get them off the streets!!

I think it should absolutley be legalised then the woman and men who decide to prostitute themselves can do and be protected

I think it would be better all round if it was legalised as they would be better protected but I wouldn't like to have a brothel in my area My youngster would think all his birthdays had come at once if he came across one locally

Re: Do you think prostitution should be legalised?

Yes.
Brothels could be located on business parks/industrial estates - away from residential areas. The huge majority of business would be out of office hours, so there should be little conflict.
Premises would have reception and health areas, and security. Each private area would have a panic button. The women/men should all be self employed (no pimps), pay tax, pay a health levy, be drug tested and refused a permit to work if they are found to be using.
Street prostitution and kerb crawling should be cracked down on - all 'crawlers' registration numbers should be published weekly in local papers.

But could it ever happen here?
