I'll have a guess at 4 kittens........what about you?

Fran
24-03-2005, 10:25 PM
Not sure really, I don't like poking and proding. Perhaps 3

Mags
24-03-2005, 10:28 PM
Oooh no, don't go prodding her!!! I was just having a little guessing game with you!!

Ive never had a cat thats had kittens, how many is the normal litter....

Fran

I know Mags but if you were an expert like Sam then I am sure you would have a good idea. She is only a small cat herself but she looks huge. I did think at one point it was def an odd number due to her shape, I have always been right with the dogs whether odd or even, you can just tell by looking. But with Maud I am now not so sure???? Ooooh I wish she would hurry up, I am so excited :-D

Mags
24-03-2005, 10:43 PM
Yes, Sam would take everything in her stride - she must be quite an expert at kittening........must remember to ask her how many kittens she's brought into the world!

Fran
24-03-2005, 10:49 PM
Not sure really Moli. Sam would be better qualified to tell us what the average is

Moli

You are lucky...I would love kittens, my cats have always been boys.....

Well i have to say in all the years of cats i dont think there is an average.A lot depends on the female at the time of mating.4/5 is a nice size, but we have had 3 litters of 9 from persians and one of those is a tiny mum.Ive now had 2 litters of 10 and the parents were mother a daughter and all kits were white.
I would suspect that if shes going in her box it wont be to long ,however you can never tell as each cat is different and each pregnancy can be different.

9 or 10 :smt103 :smt103 :smt103 OMG I was thinking 3 or 4. Maybe I won't be keeping them all then!! I have a home for one, the receptionist at my vets is having one. She has now decided not to be in her box and is on the settee with me! She's going to keep me guessing ;-)

Mags

The waiting must be quite nerve wracking PK!!!

Fran
