Why do people have cats when they treat them like dirt.
I said i wasnt going to foster for a little while ,however an emergency case has come up and im the only one who has the setup to cope .
We took on this little Blue/white female persian ,she has no name and shes 9 months old.
She has been hit over the head and put in a plastic bag and thrown in the rubbish. She was found by someone walking their dog and handed over to rescue.
She is totally petrifide to the extent she trys to climb walls to get away and has thrown herself at the window.Shes now been seen by vets but even that was an exercise in its self. She ended up beening darted as thats the only way the vets could get near. She has a nasty bump to head but barring that shes very well.
Her case has been handed to the police and rspca to investigate so i can say no more about her case.
The only good thing is they know where her owner is so i hope he gets the book thrown at him.

That is so horrible Sam  How on earth can a human being treat a defenceless young animal like that? I know what I would wish on the person who did it....why do they have animals in the first place?

One good thing has come out of it......she has come to you and if anyone can get her through this, I know you'll have a bl...y good try. I wish you all the luck in the world with her.

well how about giving her a nice name first.Any ideas.I will do my best but this is going to be very hard work as she is so scared.
We have spoken to her breeder and she is very angry. They paid £500 for her and have treated her like trash

That makes me so mad! I think cats don't ask for much in life, just some food & shelter & love!

I think the name precious is perfect for her 8)

Good on ya Shonedek for taking her in, hopefully she will soon start to trust you & realise not all "humans" are bad -

I don't actually think they deserve to be called humans if they can be that horrible to animals.

Sapphire is a lovely name too Mags. I think Lucky is appropriate despite being unimaginative

Here is another one for Saphire, I don't understand anyone being cruel to a cat let alone paying a large amount of money for one and doing that for it. I am sure with your help she will learn that not all humans are nasty, but if Queenie is anything to go by, it will always be there a little bit. At least Queenie trusts us to have cuddles with us (2 hours solid last night!!!!)

Oh was a terrible story - i literally have tears in my eyes reading this post - how very sad, I really hope she will be able to trust humans again, this will probably effect her for life the poor little darling.

How about Poppett for her name?

I love the name Poppett and thats what she will be called.
Progress report,
Had a little bit of a break through with her.I sat very quietly on the floor with some very smelly fish and cheese and she came to a foot infront of me.This is a real good as i have never seen a cat so scared in all my years, and ive seen some cats.
She is totaly scared of men which is to be expected as it was a man that did this to her.weve now put a tv with her and this is on 24/7,this might help.
One problem we have is shes book in to vets next week to be clippered off as her coat is so knotted i reackon it will come off in one whole mass.
What has mad me sick is the person who did this refused to sign her over and a certain animal society have said that if he signed her over they would drop the case.so he signed, however i have told the breeder on the quiet and she has gone balistic so she is taking this matter on.I cant say to much as its now going through our rescue and police with the help of the vets.He will pay!

Love the name Sam!
Nice to know you've had a bit of a breakthough with her - sounds like it's going to need a lot of patience and hard work to repair the damage done to her.
And I hope the guilty will suffer!

shes coming closer each day ,she let me touch her on the back and was quite happy till my OH came in so all men are banned from her pen for now.She is eating well and is happy to see me when i go in that she has started to talk which is always a good sign.I have spent hours sat on the floor with her and i now have a flat bum.Disscovered that she likes the cooked chickens that you can get from supermarkets and she has taken it from my hand.So each day we are seeing results.

i hope so Mags otherwise her outlook isnt good.Being a Persian she must be handled every day so she can be groomed otherwise she will end up in the state shes in now.Her coat actually stinks where she has never been groomed and its like a felt coat. She has this clipped off Wednesday so i have to work real hard at letting me touch her.I think she will its just going to be a while.I have spent hours with her so far but it will pay in the long run, well i hope so
