This is a very complicated situation, basically I want to know if there are any places that will take in a cat temporarily in exchange for a generous donation. My friend has a 12 year old cat with a very sensitive digestive system & must eat only specialist food that is hypo-allergenic, but my friend lives with her mother who is very unwell mentally, whilst my friend is at work her mum feeds the cat regular cat food & when my friend confronts her mum about it her mum claims that she did not feed the cat that food & she doesn't know how the food got there (nobody else lives in the house), the regular food is bad for the cat & makes her poo blood - my friend has told her mum that but it goes in one ear & out the other. My friend is looking hard for a place to rent that will accept pets & is within her budget - but unfortunately the vast majority of landlords will not accept tenants with pets. My friend is worried that the cat will die & she adores the cat, if her mums kills the cat through the food she's feeding it then I worry about the possibility of things turning very ugly indeed. I would offer to take in the cat but I have a puppy & I live in a very small flat - so it's not suitable.

Hello, your friend could ask cats protection for a temporary Foster carer or perhaps advertise privately for one.
Maybe a cattery which of course would be expensive.
My son lives in rented accommodation with 2 cats so there are places out there.
Hope things get sorted.
