In the last 7 years of her life Pebbles has decided to poop all over the house. She almost completely stopped going outside the house and only goes in -.-
We used to a have 2 litter trays (up and down stairs)
but no she would like to go under the stairs or behind the telly upstairs the hall by the office or by mums bed preffered!!
She pees in the litter tray but wont do her business their but over and thats the way its been for ages now we tried re training her when it first began happening when that failed we tried keeping her out the lounge but that didnt work she just found mums room more convienient.
at 20 their is probably very little we can do to correct the problem it seems she is stuck in her ways. We get her health tested every now and then to make sure she isn't suffering from anything and has all ways passed her MOT her last one was earlier this year and was tested to make sure her kidneys and everything was all right as in the last year her poop has got more and more runny she was tested for diabetes as well and she came back clear.
I can't think at all what may have triggered her decission to only go in the house other then her age and insecurity around other cats (loads of them in our area and some are siamese cats that have been know to corner fox's).
She has grown incredibly thin in the last weeks but otherwise really seems herself I also heard that this happens with older cats I remember the writtle cat who was really skinny in his old age and my Aunty saying her older cats went thin.
Pebbles is quite arthritic but still see's herself fit enough to come down the stairs and taunt the dog by stairing at her and waiting patciontly for her to come close enough to launch herself in range of the dog who runs away o.0''
She still looks up brightly to see you and purrs loudly when you stroke her.
I am wondering if anyone else has ever exerienced any of these behaviours in older cats.
