This herb, knit bone or bone set (probably) is also used as a composting herb and when steeped in water as a fertiliser, especially good for tomatoes and around fruit bushes.

This herb used to grow on the roadsides in UK and has lovely blue/mauve flowers. Its leaves are quite rough and a bit prickly and large. It exudes a clear sap.

pamela81

Shelley123
28-09-2011, 09:04 PM
Goodness Shelley - that's an interesting thing for a kid to see!

i hated it, lots of muscley grunting men, used to scare me when they dropped the weights. Purple sweaty faces with bulging veins
Can remember seeing a body builder sprayed with gold paint doing his stuff to the tune wheels. My mum told me he would die if the paint wasn't washed off before a certain time, i can remember being horribly fascinated at this.
At one time my dad was a champion in Lancashire

Shelley123
28-09-2011, 09:05 PM

dandysmom
28-09-2011, 09:11 PM
I think weight lifters are just grotesque ........ not the least bit attractive

angieh
28-09-2011, 09:12 PM
I had to go back and check this ...... but Theodore Roosevelt is still the youngest US president on the day of inauguration.

Theo was 42yrs 322 days; JFK was the next at 43 yrs 236 days.

No points there, I'm afraid.

Q6. What is the name of Sherlock Holmes’ housekeeper?

Sorry - just edited that - I'd put a year on Theo's life!

dandysmom
28-09-2011, 09:13 PM
Another one I pass on!

Shelley123
28-09-2011, 09:13 PM
saw the gold man sometime in the 60's Angie

dandysmom
28-09-2011, 09:16 PM
Shelley, just dawned on me that remark about weightlifters wasn't very tactful or kind; sorry If I offended you. I didn't mean your Dad. I was thinking of the current ones on steroids, not way back then .

lynz85
28-09-2011, 09:16 PM
no idea either angie...

pamela81
28-09-2011, 09:16 PM

  not at all Eileen, i quite agree.
I hate the look of body builders and i hated the competitions, found them scary.
I was proud of my dad though when he was a champ, although he was strong he wasn't a muscle bound man

Shelley123
28-09-2011, 09:20 PM
sorry Angie, i don't know either

angieh
28-09-2011, 09:21 PM
I can't believe that no-one reads Sherlock Holmes much any more! Used to be a firm favourite of mine, although I have to say that generally I wasn't able to follow the great man's deductions! Also thought it was topical, because a few days ago, Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle's first novel was published. He'd never intended it to be but I must admit the few snippets I've read I've found very interesting!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-15054089

Sherlock Holmes' housekeeper was Mrs Hudson.

Q7. Who recorded an album entitled Dark Side of the Moon in 1973?

pamela81
28-09-2011, 09:21 PM
pink floyd

lynz85

dandysmom
28-09-2011, 09:23 PM
I read most of Sherlock Holmes when I was in my mid to late teens, and that's been a long, long time ago, Angie....... now that you mention it, I remember.
