Ahhhhhhhhhh, I love little robins they are so sweet, we have a pair in our garden, have put a nest box in for them so we are hoping that they will use it and have even sweeter little babies.:-D

I like it! But it does seem strange after all this time not to see the helping hand ......

Oh, been meaning to say I like the new signature too!

Robins like people too. For a couple of years, I have had robins take mealworms straight from my hand during the breeding season.

Lovely, perky little bird.

He seems to be my new robin in the garden not sure if he is a resident or passing through..or forced to pass through when George Henry returns............if he does if not this robin will need a name. Have to see what what he's like (could be a female but I think of all robins as males)

Awh what an adorable robin! I love them. Apparently during the rest of hte year the red patch on their breast fades and they have only brown feathers but I've never seen a bird that looks like a robin but that is all brown in summer

Don't think that's true really meep. The red breast does seem much brighter at this time of the year and into the breeding season. It does dull down, but I've never seen a brown robin. Young robins are speckled, as they belong to the same family as the thrush.

Ahhh I see thanks for clearing that up Angie! I'd heard it on some nature programme, but I probably misinterpreted the red feathered getting brighter / stronger in winter, to 'dulling' down in summer. Either way i've never seen a robin in summer, its strange how they do seem to be a lot more prominent in winter!

Loveley Kazz. We have a couple of them in the barn so I put up a box last spring. Hope they may use it this year.

Read that the male builds around 5 nests and then the female decides which one to use so I hope the box meets with her requirements!
