As Meep mentioned in one of her posts earlier that she read that one of her plants were toxic, I thought we should all be refreshed on what was toxic and what was non-toxic to cats................................

Thanks Mags - I've added this to my favourites.

Alfie ignores plants but Kinsi is a nibbler so I'll read these carefully.

Thanks for this Mags! That is the exact website I found when doing my google search yesterday. Turns out I had a striped drachanae in the flat the whole time  it is now sitting outside the front door waiting for me to find someone to take it.

Luckily my two seem fine, I've had the plant since we got them and no ill-signs. But I'll be careful from now on. Luckily my wee jade plant can stay as it's not on the list :)

I was startled to see that aloes and amaryllis were on the toxic list. I've had both as long as I've had cats; fortunately none of mine were/are plant-nibblers. But I doubt if a cat would try aloes....all those little prickly spines on the leaf margins.......

It is shocking there are so many! I knew about lillies and they are highly dangeous (which is a shame as I love the smell!) thankfull my two aren't nibblers either, but it didn't cross my mind until the other day. The CP lady did her home visitand saw the plant and didn't mention it either, although i don't expect her to have memorised every toxic plant and how they look

Booger!!! My OH has just brought me home a lovely bunch of chrysanthemums. What do I do with them now?

I had been given two gorgeous bunches of lillies last week, but seemed to remember them being toxic for cats so put them in the bedroom, trouble is i forgot to refill the water and they died!!!! Will be looking closely at the list for future reference!

You could take the plant into work for your desk? :)

Always good to have a refresher on the toxic plant situation.

Can be a frightening and expensive time for a cat owner if poisoning suspected, as I found out

Sticking to scented candles now, way out of curious cat noses reach! :D
