Well I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. Last Friday at 1am one of our neighbours came round hysterical because MY cat wouldn't get off HER bed, and in the process had attacked her arm, which admittedily was bleeding quite bad. Anyway ended up my OH going over there to retrieve Jaffa.

I didn't speak to her about it, mainly because I hardly ever see her and partly because I was a bit peeved she had my cat on her bed.

But this morning I had no choice, anyway she explained in detail how she is on 2 different anti-biotics and her hand really swelled up and how she was house bound for two days. I just felt like saying "what the hell was she doing on your bed in the first place?" http://chilleddogs.informe.com/images/smiles/icon_evil.gif

Anyway in future I am going to turn the story round to what did she do to my cat to provoke the attack... She was quick to add to the conversation this morning that she never touched my cat, and I do believe her, my cat has always been viscous (which I'm sure I have told her before), however I am not giving the village more ammunition against us.

So far in 2 years we have managed to become enemies number 1. Just purely down to our animals. Some people have nothing more in life to do than ruin other peoples :(

sorry to hear about the grief you are getting. just because you have animals.
good question:why was your cat on her bed? she must have let him on there, she probably tried to just shove him off
why cant everyone be animal lovers like us?
if cats are treated right they are the wonderful pets you can have :)
hope things get better for you :)

I have to agree with you. If she lets your cat into her house they she has to bear any consequences! People are odd aren't they? It sounds like you're having a bit of a rough time in your village - one of the reasons I refer the anonymity of a large town.

Did she invite the cat in or did the cat sneak in and she found the cat on her bed??

Different story if the cat sneaked in and she was trying to shoo it away.....

No this is the woman that has been trying to steal my cat for many months now, Some of you may remember my last thread:

'My cats deserting me'

http://www.catsey.com/showthread.php?p=301022#post301022

So I have every reason to believe she was invited in. Yeah my village is hard work, we try to fit in and got a dog to meet other people in the village, but we picked the 'wrong dog' seems people dont want to socialise with a Dobermann owner. Can never seem to get it right :(

Good luck.

Well, if she has been letting the cat in, hell mend her! (as my granny would say lol). I'm sorry to hear that you're having such problems in your village and I agree with Charlie, maybe time to move on if they're not being welcoming. I know a lot of these little villages have lots of cliques in them and newcomers find it very hard to settle. Good luck with everything.

What a sad situation! If she let Jaffa in, then it would seem to be her problem,,,you seem to have quite unpleasant neighbors...

So sorry you find yourself in such a horrible situation. I too lived in a village where everyone seemed to be inter related:lol: . I was the new girl for 10 years!! hehe. At first I hated it, but after a few "run ins" it was fine. You'll find people are wary of you, they dont like change.
As for your cat if I were you I would stand your ground. Come strait to the point and ask the "lady" in question does she want your cat. If she say's yes then tell her she cant have her. If she say's no then tell her to stop encouraging her.
Good luck. You really have to stand up for yourself. You will be respected for it in the long run.

Thanks guys it means a lot :) , Least you all understand!

If she has another moan about how awful it all was I will question her intentions. Stand up for myself a little

You go for it! Seems sometimes these days if you dont stand up for yourself people dont respect you for some reason. Not a good thing but true.

Guinness our big black cat goes into at least 3 peoples house and goes on there beds to go to sleep or on there sofa's they usual can get him off if they cant they come and get me he's a big softy realy. I too live in a villiage which is very cat orianted. If she let him in i think its her fault not you or your kitty. She must have done something to upset it. Good luck

I would laugh if it happened to certain people on my road. Mau can get a bit aggressive if you move her when she doesnt want to be moved sometimes.
