As some of you know, I have a motability car, and it's now due for renewal. I've had it 3 years and it goes back on 26th May, but I have to pick my new one now:? . I'm stumped as what to get! I have a Citroen Xsarra Picasso just now, which I do like, but there are just so many of them on the road now:roll: . I've been looking at the Fiat Doblo and the Renault Kangoo. Granted they aren't the best looking cars on the road, but I need something high up so I dont have to bend to get into it,and also with room for my walking stick! I did want a diesel engine, but would have to pay an advance payment of £295 for that, so we won't be going down that road:lol: , and I'm also trying to get a car with a good MPG rate. Anyone know much about these cars??

I have had 2 kamgoos, changed it recently for a 4 wheel drive, they are brilliant cars, quite high and really fuel efficient, very comfortable too...you can get a diesel 19 engine too.Mine had air con, cd player, sun roof everything a car would have, and they have just brought out a new design Kangoo...I loved mine, but needed a 4 wheel drive for the weather up here...

How exciting getting a new car Alex! Hubby has a Fiat Doblo van for work and he loves it. Hubby says it's not bad on MPG but his is a deisel engine, I have to admit that at the side of my Freelander it is very smooth and easy to drive although I struggle with the clutch, it's so different from the Freelander. Hubby would certainly recommend the Doblo to you.

I am looking forward to it Fran! I love that new car smell, lol!

I have been leaning towards the Doblo, but Mags you've now put me towards the Kangoo, lol, so I'll just have to go and have a proper look at both of them!

Could you test drive them both Alex?

They are very similar, the kangoo is higher, but the Doblo is wider, so i really depends what you need....

I'll get to test drive them both, but as my local Fiat dealership doesn't do motability, I would have to go to Shrewsbury to do that one. I'm thinking of going to my local branch and asking if I can do the test drive there but go to Shrewsbury if I decide on that one!

Thanks Moli. A wider one would be better for me.

Have you looked at the mini people carrier with automatic sliding front doors? Think it's Renault or Citroen (cars are not my forte  ). Wondered if that might make life any easier?

I've been for a look at the cars today, and I'm almost 100% that I'm going for Doblo! It has sliding doors (thought not automatic) which are easy to open, lots of space inside and height for Robert (tall b****r), plenty of room in the back for the kids on long journeys, and good height for me to get in and out of!

Apparently all the colours Fiat cars come in are musical terms. There is Rumba Red, Bebop Blue, Samba Orange, Rockabilly Black, Polka Green, and the one in the pic above is Rhythm 'n' Blues Azure!!! Fab colour choices, lol!

Well, I went for my test drive today, and I've now ordered my lovely new car!! Was fantastic to drive, adn the spcae in the boot is immense, plenty of room for OH's fishing gear, lol! I've not gone for the blue in the pic above, but gone for the Samba Orange instead. Lovely and bright and not as disgusting as it sounds, lol! So I'll get it on the 26th May. Can't wait now.

This is the colour on a different car

lol@DM! I didn't fancy it when I saw it in the brochure either, but when I actually saw it I thought, why not? Makes a change from the usual blue red or silver! And at least I'll be able to find it in the car parks, lol!
