I'm really sorry to report that William has been PTS by Wood Green today.

His second results were received from Glasgow and that confirmed that he was positive.

I'm really quite sad.

When I spoke to Jo (one of the seniors in the cat section) she said that all the girls there were really sad too, as he was such a sweet little cat and has left a paw-print on all their hearts.

RIP William. I'm so sorry things weren't different for you.

Play hard on the bridge baby and say hi to Midas and Abi's kittens for me.

Lots of love

I'm okay thanks DM. I was a bit teary about it earlier, but we kind of knew it was coming. I just hoped not. Poor little man.

I've spoken to my vet again this afternoon about Lily too and we're going for another blood test on Friday. My vet said that she will be happy to say that all is okay if we get 2 negative results for her two weeks apart. So fingers crossed.

I'm also getting Abi tested on Friday too. She didn't have that much contact with William, but just to be sure.

Not, FIV. He had FeLV.

Wood Green do re-home FIV cats under certain rules and to be the only cat (or with another FIV cat).

I know Elaine. He could have made someone a lovely pet.

Unfortunately it wasn't Wod Green's policy and by the time they rang me he had already been PTS.

Just to let you all know that Lily and Abi had blood tests for FeLV at the vets tonight (a test for the virus and not just the antibodies) and both were negative.

The vet seems 99% sure that Lily and her kittens should be fine given her two negative results. I will have her tested again in about 6 weeks though, to comply with the guidelines set down by Glasgow.

At least William has left his mark on the world by leaving a litter of kittens behind. He will definitely never be forgotten. :)
