Off to the specialist with Sebastian today. He's actually settled down a lot, but I think we will still honour the appointment. I've been weaning him for a couple of days now and he seems to be responding very well - he's 4 months and a day old (doesn't time fly)!!!

Whilst we're doing that, Dominik will be at home with Katie, his older sister and she will be doing a photoshoot with him. She's going to do a BA in Photography as of next September and it's (a) practice for her and (b) it will give me a portfolio to start punting to modelling agencies as I do think Dominik might be able to earn himself some money for when he's older with his pretty face.

I'll post some of her results here later :D

Morning! Quite a nice day here. I've nothing to do except go to the butcher and get some beef for the 'xmas dinner take 2' on Sunday. I'm doing goulash and pasta, my sister is doing fruit salad & cream, so we can turn up at mum & dad & no-one is going to be stuck in the kitchen.
Mini is fine today but quite dotty - she has hardly moved from the cat carrier since we returned from the vet yesterday! :?
Good luck with the consulatant appointment Yola and for Dominik for his photoshoot - just be careful ...... remember Michael Portillo was a child model  ;)
Have a lovely day ..... I must pop off and see all those new pictures posted later yesterday.

Morning/Afternoon all. Just woken up after collapsing onto the couch the minute I came in from dropping the girls off at school. I did NOT have a good nights sleep at all, and now I feel all groggy and yuck!! Little niece was discharged although she has bronchitis and has picked up the rsv virus in hospital, I've no idea what that is though. Teddie had a little bit of a runny bot yesterday but I won't panic until I see todays, lol! All the recycyling stuff was picked up today so my dining room no longer looks like a war zone, with cardboard boxes everywhere. Have a good day everyone. x

Evening all :) Just checking in quickly to tell you all we bought a cat tree for Sashimi. It's a really simple one, just a tree on a pad with two balls hanging from it, £9 from Pets At Home (which sells big bags of the Catsan litter we use). We also got her some catnip bubbles which have her somewhat stymied.

While Hippie was checking on the kittens today, while she was nursing, he saw Wasabi get a paw across the face and not moving a muscle... So he started stroking him and tried to feel his breath with his finger, and got panicked... Called me over, so I went for a look (tummy filled with dread!)... Gave him a good stroking of that gentle-but-firm variety... And up popped his head, with a "Why are you waking me up, filthy human beast?!" look that would put any disgruntled Tiger to shame

So we had a little scare, but in the end it was nothing... Made me so proud of Hippie though - he's been so sweet about this sudden invasion of cats when if it came to him, we wouldn't have any at all (although as I've said before, he wouldn't give Sashimi and the two we're keeping up, now :smt007).

Still not decided on a name for the little girl, but we'll see :-) And keep you posted of course!

Now our little madam wants a stroking and possibly some bubbles, so I'd best be off.

Thanks! Didn't show up anywhere I looked. A nasty weather day; mild but lashing rain and high winds; so yucky I skipped going to the bank and market, although I needed to. Was planning on swordfish for dinner, but improvised with a pot of ministrone soup....always have soup ingredients around. Rain had let up a bit at lunch, didn't see Onyx but left her food anyway and it was gone when I checked later; she did come for tea when it was only a drizzle. Tomorrow supposed to be sunny and near 70F. Have a good evening, all!

I made soup today too Eileen. My carrot soup I made for New Years dinner went down so well that I made 2 pots of it today and my OH has nearly polished it off already. Even Hayley will eat it and she is VERY fussy with soup. I've never tried making minestrone soup, is it easy?

Just to add, Teddie was better today so I was right not to panic (for once, lol).

Minestrone's easy: there are probably as many recipes out there for it as there are Italian grandmothers! (Not that I have one!) Basically, just chicken stock, navy beans, split peas, onions, garlic, celery, carrots, cabbage, tomatoes, ham, some small pastas (I use the little shells) and fresh grated parmesan cheese, although I prefer to use finely shredded mozzarella, and like to add a pinch of oregano also. Sticks to the ribs...one of my favorite soups.
