Lexus RX here . . . would recommend it whole heartedly (am going to get another one come next July), but probably a bit on the big side compared to your shortlisted ones. But if you want to know more about it, just ask!! :D

I've heard good things about the Rav4, but no actual 1st hand experience.

Very nice Moli!!!! so what colour is the new addition??

Fran
27-11-2006, 06:35 PM
Very nice!!! I used to have a Honda a few years ago and I rate it amongst one of the best cars I have ever owned but it wasn't a 4x4. So what colour have you gone for?

Moli
27-11-2006, 06:35 PM
Its silver , did think of black, but silver always looks nice...I always drove Honda cars till I got Mollie, she needed space to stretch out in the boot...Best one I had was the Accord Aerodeck, it was brilliant and so fast...

Mags
27-11-2006, 06:36 PM

When do you get it Moli??? It's a nice car - is the long wheel-base one?? And silver is a good colour, I'm seriously considering that for the next Lexus - dark colours show up all the dirt and scratches

Moli
27-11-2006, 07:11 PM
They only do the CRV is LWB Yola.:D ..My present car is silver and doesn't show the dirt as much as the darker colours;) ...I should get it the weekend after next..Its coming up from England...:)

Must admit I do like the Lexus, suggested it to Hubby, his answer....Never in a million years, too good to carry ****** dogs in !!!

;) Lexus do really robust boot liners . . . ;)

Hope you have great fun with your Honda. I had a tatty old Prelude 15 years ago but still rate it as a brilliant marque :D

Thats one Honda I have never had and always wanted...I like the older style with the pop up lights..

Thats strange Moli, how people differ, my sister has had 2 Rav 4's and loved them both, she has a Honda CRV now and doesnt like it at all. Weird isnt it, how people differ in their tastes. One thing I will say is my sisters is under a year old and broke down 2 weeks ago whilst travelling at 68mph on the motorway, it stopped dead. RAC said it was the engine management system and they hooked it up to a computer and it was fixed. They said they had been out to a few of the newer models and the way in which they cut out was dangerous. Not sure whether they have had a recall on them or if it was just a couple, they are very popular and its the first negative I have heard about Honda reliability, they have an excellent record.
Dawn.

I have had quite a few Honda cars Dawn, never had a problem with them, never had a Honda 4x4 though, lets hope your sisters was an isolated incident...;) Didn't like the cabin in the Rav 4, and found the seats uncomfortable too:?

We had that happen, years ago, in a Vauxhall. Outside lane of the motorway, heavy traffic and pfft  . Thanks goodness OH was driving and thank goodness there was enough space to get over to the hard shoulder.
Scary!

Enjoy your new car Moli (did you fess up about the shredded seat in the current model?)

I want it before the bad weather sets in Yola, my present car is no good on ice or snow.....I am very impatient I am afraid, once I have decided on something, I want it yesterday!!

They can get me an X Trail, not sure about it though....Because there is a new model CRV being released in Feb, they are selling them 2000 under book price, so everybody wants one!

Is that the X-Trail, can't tell from the pic? Have to say that's one car that doesn't really do it for me - not a huge Nissan fan. What about the little BMW SUV? X3? Similar size to Rav4 and CRV - and has had good reviews.

Probably a long lead time on deliveries on the Beemer though . . .

borderdawn
28-11-2006, 07:38 PM
Ask Honda to source you a car, they can easily do it, failing that search on the net yourself, tell your local dealer where it is and they should get it to their garage for you, its common practice.
Dawn.

We have done that Dawn, and every time I find one, its gone! wish they would update their websites...
