I've just been notified about a site that asks for a £1 (or more) donation to post a small thumbnail graphic of your pet on their website.

They say 50% of profits go to charity but if you read the small print that will only happen IF they get 1 million pounds worth of posted pets. (There are also many things that could be done for that target never being reached, site offline, broken links etc - so it's only natural that one would be suspicious).... Even if they do get the target, they pocket a MASSIVE half a million pounds!

It doesn't cost £500,000 to create/host a simple site that just holds small thumbnail graphics. I could understand it if a site with large running costs ran the scheme but for such a simple site it looks more of a money making scheme. If you do want to donate money to a charity you can go direct to the charities website - least that way you know they'll be getting the money.
