What kind of game is the bank playing? You've been going round and round with them for quite some time. haven't you? How annoying!

Good luck this time!!!
At the worst, If they dont refund your charges that they said they would. Hit them for compensation. You will get £50, I know, I used to work in the bank.

Thanks everybody,. they made a mistake putting the money into my account as I had specifically specified that I wanted a cheque, a cheque is on its way (apparently) The court action won't stop until I receive my cheque ;)
Have fun Emma!!!:-D

Excellent Emma what great news for you. I, like Yola, have had PBs since I was a child and never won a bean!
Well done Emma, you're on a roll!
EmmaG
27-03-2008, 08:22 PM
Angie, some people find if they cash in their PB and then reinvest they have more luck in winning, although it shouldn't make a difference.
Thanks Mags, have you won recently?
angieh
27-03-2008, 08:45 PM
I understand that you can only buy/invest quite large sums now - I will have to dig my PBs out, but they were probably only small amounts - £1.00, £5.00. I am going back over half a century!!!

Lady Luck smiles on some people! :D I'm not one for lotteries, most I ever won was $30.00; haven't bought a ticket in years..
angieh
27-03-2008, 08:51 PM
Not sure if our Premium Bonds actually count as a lottery, dandysmom. You don't actually lose your money if you don't win the drawer, your numbers stay with you until you cash them in.

I wasn't especially thinking of your bonds, just that some people seem to be lucky at winning things ( any things) and some aren't. I can't even win one of our Quizzes... :-D
Angie, some people find if they cash in their PB and then reinvest they have more luck in winning, although it shouldn't make a difference.
Thanks Mags, have you won recently?
Not since last year Emma :(:)
That's a good idea about cashing in the old PB's and reinvesting........ it seems to be all my newish bonds that win, never the older ones:?
Congratulations Emma!! :D
EmmaG
27-03-2008, 09:28 PM
Thanks Fran :)
Mags, the ones that won for me this time were dated December 2007
Thanks Fran :)

I reckon Ernie has chewed my older bonds up, it does seem strange that none of the old £1 bonds have never won!

Got another £50 win for January (also got one for November) seem to be winning every couple of months or so.
Mags have you won recently?
I won £50 in November as well Emma :D I haven't checked this months yet...
Some lucky lady in Bristol won £1,000,000 over Christmas on a scratch card ...... wish that was me!! :-D
Just checked and nothing this month :(
I haven't won in my premium bonds in AGES!!!! When I first got them, I won £50 the first month, £50 on two numbers (so £100) the 2nd month, £100 on one number and £50 on another number the third month, and then £1000 the fourth month......so I was very lucky! But in the 2 years since those 4 wins....NOTHING LOL!
£100 is the most I've ever won at a time...:lol:
I won £50 pounds this month, nothing for OH but then he won something in December!
Hey up Emma it will all add up for the wedding.
EmmaG
03-01-2009, 09:40 PM
It will need to Kazz :)
Luckily not getting married until Summer of 2010 and we are paying for the whole of the wedding, from January I will be saving like crazy LOL
dandysmom
03-01-2009, 09:50 PM
Are you planning a big wedding then, Emma?
EmmaG
03-01-2009, 10:39 PM
No not a big wedding Eileen, we might get married abroad and then have a party back home.
We have been together for 17 years so we would like to do something really special that means a lot to the two of us, rather than having a more traditional wedding in the UK.
I have never fancied the idea of a traditional wedding in the UK, big dress, church etc etc.
Have no idea how we are going to get married yet!! LOL
dandysmom
03-01-2009, 10:46 PM
All kinds of interesting possibilities there... I agree the big splashy wedding is something that never appealed to me either.
EmmaG
03-07-2009, 06:33 PM
wooohooo had another little win this month £25 but far better than any interest rate at the moment :)
You are building up to a nice win just in time for the wedding Emma...... Congratulations.

That's great Emma! Wish we could win something. Bought some bonds because any winning would be better than the current interest rates, as you say. Nothing so far!

You're a jammy sod with the old winning streak Emma, congratulations:lol:
Well done Emma, you're working up to the million gradually I see!;):D
EmmaG
04-08-2009, 07:03 PM
LOL Elaine!! It is about time!!! Apart from premium bonds and a few small wins on the lottery I don't normally win anything.....apart from a Turkey once at Christmas!!! :)
Thanks Mags, It will take me a long time to reach the million mark thought at this rate!! 3,334 years to be precise!! LOL
dandysmom
04-08-2009, 07:48 PM
Congrats, Emma!
angieh
04-08-2009, 08:08 PM
Well done Emma. It sort of supports my theory that once your number comes up, ERNIE tends to pick the same number again. If you never win, I think the odds of winning get smaller ............. not sure if that's true, just seems like it!
EmmaG
04-08-2009, 09:12 PM
Thanks Eileen.
Angie you could always try cashing in your numbers and buying new bonds with the money. They do say that more current bonds tend to win (although they have no idea why this should be)
EmmaG
04-08-2009, 09:16 PM
Angie I just checked that the winning bond was purchased in March 2007
angieh
04-08-2009, 09:30 PM
We've only had our bond holding since March this year, I think. I've still got some very low sum bonds from when I was a child - not worth cashing in really, it's that little. I always let NS&I know when I change address - thinking it'll jog their memory!!!
To all of you winning best of luck...and enjoy what you win...
EmmaG
04-08-2009, 09:37 PM
ahhh early days then Angie. I hope you get a win, you can check them online now as well.
