I've been reading catpages for a few weeks and thought it was time I joined! With a bit of luck I've got 2 photos here. Molly and Jason, sister and brother, now 8 months old.http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g125/MrsH_photos/Intro%20kittens/IMG_4212.jpg

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I think my cats are gorgeous too!

The litter they came from was very mixed, there was a tortie girl, a ginger boy, a "Felix" lookalike and my two. Mum was a dark tortie but there was no information about the Dad!

They've still got blue eyes so I'm hoping they stay that way.

Looking forward to lots of chats from now on.

The cat in the first picture really reminds me of a snowshoe cat like these

Welcome!! And wonderfully proactive with good photos of your lovely cats too! Very happy to "meet" you! :-)

Surely the eye-colour stays after eight months? Thought that changed in the first three?

Smudgely, I've never heard of a Snowshoe but I agree Molly does look a bit like that although my girl's markings are much more uneven.

Hreow, thanks for the welcome, and the good news that their eyes should stay blue! To be honest they're quite a light blue but we're still very smitten with them nevertheless!

Thanks for the welcome, Kazz. We've had cats for nearly 35 years now and have only ever had 2 maximum. Molly and Jason are number 6&7. It's the first time we've had two from the same litter and we've noticed that they've taken a bit longer than any of the others to be very affectionate towards us. Too wrapped up in each other I suppose at first.

Hiya,

Littermates are nice aren't they. And two is a nice number isn't it cat wise. Do you normaly leave a gap between your cats then an older one then a kitten?

There hasn't really been a plan to this in the past! But we've usually had a second kitten when the older one was about 9 -10 months and they've generally got on well. The down-side is that the 2 cats grow old at the same time. The exception was Domino, a cat of shall we say "limited" intelligence? She formed a very strong attachment to the cocker spaniel we had at the time, so we decided to keep her as a "singleton" cat.

Yes you are right about them growing old together my two hae grown old together and now I am facing heartbreaking times almost on top of each other, however I also know on the up side they couldn't have had a better life.:)

And I am not sure about the limited intelligence idea for forming a strong attachment to a cocker spaniel I know quite a few people who have formed strong attachments to cockers :-D :-D :-D :-D and they are seemingly intelligent ;) people.

The thing about Domino was that I believe she truly thought the dog was just another cat and spent ages washing her, always looking astonished that the dog didn't purr! The "limited intelligence" thing really showed up in Domino's habit of sitting on the white line in the middle of the road to wash herself whenever she got out of the garden!!

A proper middle of the road cat then :D

If you *must* wash in the road, surely the white line is one of the safer places? :-) Domino sounds like a real character.
