My Cleo is 23 not sure if anyone has a cat thats older on here, but will be pleased if they do.:-D

I think any age over 16-17 is a good age.:) as long as they are healthy, and happy.

There was a fab fat, fat, tabby in a chip shop in the town nearest where I grew up. She used to sleep in the boxes of fish (before the Health and Safety dragons ruled the earth! ) weighed about 30lbs and was reputed to be at least 25 years old!
Obviously a good life for a cat

Patches, my brindled tortie is 20, as far as I know...the vet said she was 1 1/2 when I rehomed her in 1987...the "baby" Leia is 6 1/2. Prior to Patches, Misty died at 19 1/2. And the cat I grew up with vanished at 17...he was an outdoor cat & just never came home one day...no closure...sad! :(

My Mols is only 5.5ish months old so she def not the oldest :D

CJK when the mothers up the school found out I was 30 they thought i was older than that, they thought I was about 35 :( It must be these kids that make us look old and haggered ;)

Well, although I only take on oldies, the eldest I have had is 14. Although the vet estimated Ginger at 11 when I got him 4 years ago, so he will be 15 in August.

My oldest was 19, we had her siblings and they died at 15 and 16. Our current oldest 2 are only 'babies' at 9! Blimey, some of you have really oldie cats - what the secret?!

My Putney's 19, 20 this September, if he makes it through the summer. (Named after the town in London he was found wandering as a lad, prob had all the gals he wanted back then before his snip and life in the country!)

Sadly this thread is out of date. Elaine's Winston and my Tizzie have gone to rest after long and happy lives. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_4_10.gif
Kazz's eternal Cleo is still streets ahead at 23!
It's amazing - we have our cats in our homes longer than we have our children!
